Uckers ya @uckers journey began in 2013. I was building my Garden Bar/Man Cave and decided an Uckers Board would be a great addition. Not any Uckers Board but a board that reflected my RN history. A search on the web was done but the only company I found of note declined to personalise a board. After several more discussions with family and a Graphic Designer that my brother worked with, we came up with the first design that featured the Type 42 Destroyers of the Royal Navy. This design was intended for a board that I was planning to donate for auction at the forthcoming HMS Coventry reunion and Service of remembrance (May 2014) for shipmates lost during the Falklands conflict in 1982. This proved a big success and resulted in many requests for boards with other designs. In July 2014 Uckers ya @uckers was officially launched with a facebook page and an MOD License for official use of Armed Forces badges and insignia. Other designs quickly followed including the Type 21 Frigates and WAFU Board (the WAFU design was decided after a dedicated facebook page was set up to vote on which Squadrons, Naval Air Stations, aircraft and ships should be included in the design).
In February 2015 the website was launched with the domain name of uckers-ya-uckers.co.uk. Initially printing and laminating of the designs was outsourced and became quite frustrating due to delays at the printers, in November 2015 a large format printer and laminator was acquired improving production and reliability in meeting customer deadlines. ........to be continued - - - check back regularly for updates to this thread.
